Don’t leave Chula Vista behind without dedicating at least an afternoon to exploring The Living Coast Discovery Center with the kids. A visit to Escondido is a chance to embrace Old West Charm through architecture in the heart of Southern California in a place that was founded back in 1888. 

While the history here is rich, so are options for entertainment thanks to the fact Escondido calls the Patio Playhouse Community Theatre and the California Center for the Arts its very own. If you’re heading to Southern California with a passion for fine wine in place, Escondido is sure to inspire. There are several wineries in the area including Orfila Vineyards & Winery as well as Highland Valley Vineyards where you can book a tasting session or drop by to explore the grounds.
